An Expectant Father's Dreams

If you are an expectant father, you may have feelings of anxiety, anticipation and worry which may be reflected in your dreams. If you are going to be fathers for the first time you may feel that your masculinity is being threatened by their protective and nurturing feelings towards their spouse and their unborn children.

Expectant Father's Dreams

This may lead to the expectant father having dreams where his masculinity is being questioned or is exaggerated. It is during the first few weeks of his wife's pregnancy that the father may dream a lot about the masculine activities and have some macho visions. He may dream of winning some games on the field and have triumphs.

All this in a sense fills his desire to be more masculine as he is facing the problems of threat to his masculinity. The expectanat father may also feel an urge to conform to his gender roles as he qil be needing it more now. It is through these dreams that the expectant father understands his role as a father and what it means to be a father and lead a new life with a baby.

It is during the first semester of the pregnancy that an expectant father has more sexual dreams. In fact it is found in an American study that sexual dreams are the highest during the earlier part of the pregnancy. The father may dream of his wife having sex with other men, porostitues, some other women or homosexuals.

All this is very normal as he is adapting himself to his new role as a father. His dreams may also reflect his worries about how the new born child will affect his and his partner's sex life.

Usually as the woman moves towards the second trimester of pregnancy, the sexual dreams lessen as expectant father is now more worried about his wife and their baby.

An expectant father may also dream about nurturing and protecting his wife. It shows that he is trying to adapt himself to the new life and his new role of a father. He is trying to fulfill his responsibilities of a father and a caring husband.
