Apprehending the Dreams of Dads To Be

If you are an expectant father, your anxiety, anticipation, worry and excitement may open a floodgate of dreams. If you have been dreaming of someone sleeping besides your partner, it may mean that you are worried about your sex life which may be damaged during pregnancy. Or it may be possible that you have been dreaming of your grand parents. It shows that you are concerned of your family's roots. Your dreams may also reflect that you are feeling neglected as all the attention is being given to your partner.

If you are having such dreams then it is quite normal, as said by some professionals. All that you need to do is to talk to your partner about how you feel. If you share your feelings and your dreams throught out the pregnancy period it may help you feel needed and loved. Your dreams may be telling you different things and may have different interpretations.

According to an American study, expectant fathers during the first few months of the pregnancy of their partner may have more sexual dreams than usual. Fathers to be may dream of their wife having sex with some other man, with prostitutes, some other women or with homosexuals during the early phase of the pregnancy.

All this happens because the father to be develops a protective feeling towards the unborn child and his wife and it may be threatening to his masculinity. He may see some other macho visions and all this may express the need to be more masculine.

Due to so many sexual dreams the father to be dreams of caring and protecting his partner. These kind of dreams come to an end when the wife moves to the second trimester of her pregnancy.

By the time the expantant mother reaches her second trimester of pregnancy the expectant father may not have sexual dreams but would rather become more nurturing and protective. He may find himself dreaming and thinking about his family background. He may also figure himself being pregnant and giving birth to a baby.

The expectant father may also dream of a baby just like the expectant mother. He may dream of his child performing some ceremonies.
