What to bring to the hospital when the expected date has arrived largely depends on personal preferences. Comfort is another consideration that needs to be taken care of. It is worth noticing that you do not rush to pack your bags when your delivery date is around, so ideally it is suggested that you should keep your bag handy at least 2 weeks before the date because you never know when the necessity might arise. Few tips for your convenience are as follows:
1) Maternity robes for easy movement.
2) Slippers so as to avoid direct contact with floor which can prove fatal to the delicate body of mother who has just given birth to a little baby. Socks are good substitutes to keep the feet warm. So, do not forget to include them in your bags.
3) Toiletries which include your complete personal hygiene kit (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, moisturizer, face wash, towel, extra undergarments)
4) A list of contact numbers which you might need.
5) Lip balm or moisturizer (to avoid dryness and chapped lips after pushing)
6) Maternity pads
7) Nursing pads/bra
8) Music player or light books
9) A watch with second hands because you might need to keep a check on time while contractions
1) Digital camera or a handy cam if you wish to shoot and capture this important moment of your life.
2) Tennis balls for the expecting mother's back massage
3) Clothes for personal use if you are planning to stay with the expecting mother.
4) Do not forget to carry the birth plan, if any
*FOR INFANTS:
1) Blanket
2) Infant clothes
3) Booties
4) Diapers
Some expecting mothers prefer to carry two bags- one for labor time and the other for post partum but at the end of it all of this depends on your personal convenience. It should always be remembered that we just don't need all these things before pregnancy, the post partum is equally important for the mother. One should not forget to carry a comfortable dress for going back and the size of dress that earlier fit the mother would not fit her for the time being.
Keeping in consideration the above points will definitely help you and you can have a peaceful nap once you are prepared with all of the things mentioned above.
