Baby Sitter

Care for one or more than one babies, in the temporary absence of guardians or parents by a person, is known as “Baby Sitter”. Baby sitters love babies and understand them very much. If somebody is doing a job of baby sitter, he/she should follow the various points for safety measures of babies. Baby sitter knows the following things before appointment:

  • Baby’s like and dislikes about food.
  • Favorite toys of babies.
  • Where is first aid kit stored, at the home.
  • Safety rules about babies.

  • In case of blackout, where are the flashlight and candles stored.

Interview of baby sitter

An interview of baby sitter should take by the parents, before placing a baby to stranger. It is right time for parents to ask questions about baby sitter. Does she to be comfortable around children and like children? Does he or she have views on discipline that are reasonably close to yours?

The interview is the right time to discuss about salary or timing for care of baby and settle the matter of transportation.

Advance preparation

Parents must prepare a list which includes the following things:

  • Name, permanent address and contact number for baby sitter. In an emergency, it can be used by baby sitters.
  • The contact numbers of your family health care providers, the fire department and the police department.
  • Name and phone numbers of your relatives and friends where you can be gone.
  • The name and contact number of a close friend or relative, as a back-up for baby sitters.

Parents must be planned to stay on the home for at least 15 to 20 minutes after arrived the baby sitter. Family policies, rules and situation are different in each family. What are the rules about answering the door?, Is it ok to use the phone?, Does the baby has homework?
