Try Different Positions
- Hold the baby over your forearm with face down. Place the baby's head at your elbow and wrap your thumb and fingers around the babies thigh.
- Make your baby sit on your hand with the baby's back placed against your chest. Place you other hand across the baby's chest while wrapping your thumb and finger around the baby's upper arm.
- Pressing the baby's stomach against your shoulder bone, hold the baby high over your shoulder.C
- radle your baby in your arms. Hold them tightly in your arms placing the baby's tummy against yours.
Move In Rhythmic Motion
- Walk around with your baby in your arms.
- Try deep knee bends while rocking the baby vertically
- Stand up and sway the baby side by side and back and forth
- Use a rocking chair to comfort your baby.
Provide Warmth
- Hold your baby close to your body so that the baby receives your warmth.
- Use a heating pad in your baby's sleep area. Before you place the baby on the sleeping area, take out the pad and check if the bed is comfortably warm.
- Use a blanket to swaddle your baby and hold the baby tightly close to you.
Make Soothing Sounds
- Speak in a soft and low voice to your baby
- Hum or sing a soft and soothing song to your baby
- Record a uniform sound for the baby to hear, or you can also play classical, soft rock or new age music.
Touch
- A touch will also do the trick in comforting your baby. Massage the baby's back from top to bottom, firmly but gently.
- Pat the baby on his back and bottom, again firmly but gently.
