Child’s treasure
I had been for the Halloween party of my niece few days back and for a while I felt……superheroes actually exist!! I know you too are smiling at this thought. Kid’s costume somehow creates a separate rug sack in our memory highways -- however weird, funny, unrealistic, or flashy they may be. Hang on, did you just laugh out remembering the outfit in your first fancy dress competition (when you were in kindergarten)?
Yes I’d agree when you quietly whisper to yourself, “such costumes are a child’s treasure!”
Fashion over the years has had its own phase of revolution and nevertheless countless icons have ruled the industry in all its variations. Kids as such do happen to be a major part of this and as such are nowhere behind. They have their own ideas and designers too take huge pride when they able to draw kids to any crazy design.
Making a kid’s costume today (for any occasion or daily wear) is not only a matter of aesthetics but comfort and easy maintenance as well. When we are invited for a gathering wherein the gift is for the kid, most of us scrutinize all the brands/shops to ensure that the costume bought remains the child’s treasure thereafter.
The best itineraries in a kid’s costume would perhaps be:
The buttons
The laces and frills
The colourful bows
The soft and warm feel of the flannel cloth
The designs which make us frown but are tempting enough to buy as well
The flashy colours that looks good on kids only.
There is another woodhouse I’d like you to peep into with me in this regard. Most homemakers are found busy knitting or stitching stuff for the new born. It seems to be a special phase of upbringing and thereby stacks up umpteen memories with each of the costume being made.
Also, a new costume for the annual school function, festival, birthday and other such occasion, most mothers tend to remember in proper order what was bought or made for their kids each year throughout their childhood. Some parents are a notch higher as they happen to remember what was bought or made for their son/ daughter as long as they live….you haven’t come across anyone as such? Well, check with your parents/ grandparents!! Trust me it’s the most satisfying feeling to see ones parents happily remembering how they went about the arrangement of their kid’s costume.
