A woman in pregnancy faces many problems including physical disorders and also mental stress. And this, consequently, results in their mood swings and change in temper. In this stage a woman is flooded with different physical experiences and various impulses. Their mind- set tends to vary time to time with certain yearning or moods. Every woman responds differently due to hormonal changes. And it is not necessary that all women shows such significant variants during and post pregnancy.   • Be receptive- Try to understand that your partner has undergone a severe passage of huge change physically and mentally which has bestowed you, your little toddler. So if she whines or gets annoyed without any cause then do not react. Let her burst out and try to pacify her with a cool and calm consent.
  • Keep the reason back of your mind- Always remember that whatever she says or rant on you, it is just a fleeting phase. It won’t last longer and she never says it intentionally. Try to consider her hormonal changes and act patiently with that. You can divert her attention by helping her in her daily chores and taking care of your baby with her.
  • Be adjustable- Do not expect much from your partner- be it personally or professionally. She will definitely not continue her professional segment but she might not succumb to your bed as well. Relax! She has given a birth to your child and she needs you to give her support and time to recuperate her bodily tiredness. Even though you and your partner have not bonded physically, you can still ignite the spark of your love. Take her out in a romantic dinner. Let her shop especially for your baby that will amuse her more.
  • Be a responsible dad- A woman gets infuriated when she finds that you are not giving your share of being a father. When she is left alone to do all the tasks mandatory for your baby, she always looks up to you. So be there for her whenever she needs you. Help her in bringing up your child and take care of your baby for his every single need.
  • Help her to cope up with Post Partum Depression- This disorder affects 10% of the women exactly after their delivery. She might show some symptoms like quick irritation, short temper and sudden mood swings. In such cases you need to act smartly and make sure that you will not aggravate the scene.

It is a natural process and has no severe repercussion on your partner. But if it persists, seek the advice of the doctor. Parenthood is a phenomenal experience, so don’t spoil this amazing responsibility!
