Same in toddlers
Toddlers bring in a new section in our daily menu cards. This section is by far the most exotic, colourful, spicy, and undoubtedly most tempting. The first try in any of the dishes of this section does carry along some memory for as long as we live. Toddlers and shame is probably the funkiest dish! Try it!
The main ingredients of this dish are as follows:
- A faint smile
- The two hands covering a bigger chunk of the face
- A typical cry/ noise which does not resemble any other feeling/ emotion
- Eyes blinking frequently
- Sometimes a smile which is a little less than a laugh
- Lips rolling in all possible angles
- A weird pose- to taste!
Normally, shame in toddlers is identified merrily. With not more than a nappy around the reason of shame could quite raise your eyebrows…as long as you identify it. Therefore toddlers and shame could serve your appetite well enough as long as you have the patience to understand, explore and relish it.
Shame in toddlers also increases your spectrum of interaction with the toddler. The moment you identify it, the baby realizes that you belong to the same farm and hence the harvest ahead is of significant quality.
Toddlers look for a huge amount of attention, time and respect from the people around them. In this case, shame should be treated as radar which helps you safely sail through the toddlers mind and actions. Be careful! There could be minute thundershowers in between.
Let’s try and list a few reasons for shame in toddlers:
- A new face in the known committee dealt with everyday
- A particular song/ tune/ object/ colour/ food…..too many to list
- A new dress
Well I give up! It’s more of a puzzle or even better, a good topic to hit the Google for.
This could be a good game to play when traveling in the train or sitting in the rooftop during a power failure, or just test the IQ level of would-be parents. Say what?
