So when your nose starts bleeding do not panic as more anxiety and stress can cause more trouble to you at this stage.

Reason of nosebleeds during pregnancy

Your pregnancy forces blood vessels of your nose to expand and since your blood circulation during pregnancy increases from 30% to 50%, they normally put pressure in such delicate vessels. And very often women are complimented for their glow in their pregnancy largely due to such increase level of blood circulation. But this circulation exerts pressure in the mucous lining of their nose which gets ruptured and results in nosebleeds during pregnancy. Other major factors that cause your nosebleeds are:

What to do at the time of nosebleed?

Instantly hang your head high in air straight above your heart. Do not lie or lay back your head otherwise you might consume your blood causing nausea and vomiting. Pinch the lower part of your nose with hands firmly and remain there for few minutes. Apply ice bags over your nose and cheek to freeze the circulation. Do not resume your position to check if bleeding has stopped as it can disrupt the coagulation process.

How to forestall such situations?

The good news is that you can easily prevent such situation to occur. Drink extra fluid that would retain the moisture in your nose membrane. Blow gently when you sneeze as hard blowing can rupture your membrane. You can use gels and lubricants to keep your nose area moist. Saline nasal spray and water- based nasal lubricants can also help which must be bought under your doctor’s supervision. Avoid dry area and install humidifier in your home, if required, on winter season. Avoid irritating smells like smoking, perfumes or any such cologne. Do not survive in prolong consumption of chemical nasal spray. Use the natural and herbal ones but try to use them when necessary. Unnecessary can only add severe problems to you.

These physical problems are inevitable but if you mange to cope up with them with such great care and remedies, your pregnancy will turn out to be a walkover for you. Do not let these problems enter to your psyche as your baby’s intellectual development entirely depends on your moods, feelings and your metal state of psyche. Think well, feel healthy and stay happy as you can. Read good books, enjoy watching good movies and have nice conversation with your friends and family. Enjoy every moment of your pregnancy with zeal of happiness to welcome your baby into this world.
