True Vs False Labor: Signs of Labor 


Labor pains is the most painful thing that a woman experiences in her entire life. There are many questions that come to one’s mind related to labor pain.  

Braxton Hicks contractions

One needs to know when will she have labor pains and what will be the symptoms of it. Before having true labor pains one may also experience false labor pains during the pregnancy period which is known as Braxton Hicks contractions. There are contractions in your uterine system which may start occurring from the fourth month of your pregnancy. 
When one experiences Braxton Hicks contractions there is pain in the abdomen but it is not so painful and is also not so regular. It also does not increase with walking and taking excursions.

True Labor

The signs of true labor may vary from person to person. One feels very uncomfortable during this period. Some women may experience a back ache while others may feel pain in their pelvic area. Some other signs are:  

It is not necessary that all the women have the same symptoms. Some may experience these symptoms while others may have some others. It may also depend on the fact that whether you are delivering for the first time or you have already had a baby.  

Sometimes, the bags of water may rupture when the labor begins. If the bag breaks there may be a continuous flow of water from your vagina. You should immediately contact your doctor then. Immediate help should be asked for if the fluid that is coming out is not clear, is greenish or brownish. Even if you have fever or you feel some irritation in the vagina, you should immediately contact your doctor.  
Sometimes a woman may visit a hospital thinking that she is undergoing labor pains, but may be sent back. She may be having false labor pains at that time or the baby may not be ready to be delivered at that time.  

One should prepare herself right form the start for the labor pains as it is a big thing. Although the preparation may take time but trust yourself and everything will be fine.
